The Certification Unit for Code of Practice (CoPCU) is responsible for implementing certification scheme activities for the Malaysian palm oil industry. Currently, the certification scheme implemented by this unit is the Code of Good Nursery Practice for Oil Palm Nurseries (CoPN), which has been mandated for implementation starting 1 July 2022. The implementation of this certification scheme emphasizes the practices and procedures required to operate an oil palm nursery in order to produce high-quality planting materials. To maintain the quality of the CoPN certification scheme auditing process, this unit also ensures annual compliance with the ISO/IEC 17021 standard — Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems.
